Now THAT was fishing!
Wow!
What a great day!
We came home with a 30 lb bright nook, a 12 lb chinook, and a 12 pound silver, before we had to go.
We started lazy, I had to go over to Chinook and take some digital pics of Tuttles Bait and Tackle, so we just put in at Chinook at around 9:30... Went out, forgot the coffee, came back, got the coffee, went out, hit the church hole next to Captain J at about 10ish.
Within 10 minutes we had a double. My reel screamed, the fish jumped about 3 feet from the up stream boat above us and came off. Bill landed his 30 pounder.
From then until 11:30 or so it was non stop action. Wild fish, coho, chinook, whoooooo hooooo! I couldn't even take a sip of coffee!
Best of all, I successfully netted Bill's fish! This is a good thing, cuz last year I knocked one off and I have been paranoid ever since. I think I have my confidence back after today. Whewie! I actually felt better about netting today than I did catching! And I felt REALLY good about catching! Imagine that!
So, yes, it was a good day. For a while there, I saw many nets in the air.
It kind of died around 12, or slowed down anyway, and we left.
Going tomorrow.... and the next day, and the next day, and.....
FISH ON!
J

Twas a truly great day. I spent the last three days at our huge family reunion and of course was designated to take our cousins from Germany out for salmon. We hit the river at 7:30 and were into fish. We released one native and lost one chinook then boated three very nice chinook, released another coho, and headed in with very happy Bavarians. Achtung!!!!

Gee Captain, hope you didn't have to wash down a bunch of barbequed chinook with bier!

Default JENNIE SUCCEEDS - THE SKUNK IS GONE!

Jennie reported by cell phone from the Church hole that she got her chinook this morning...so did Bill! She's one excited woman! Now they're working on filling the coho limit. (Heck, by now they probably have it!) There are doubles everywhere, she said. The fishing is great! Drop what you're doing and go to the estuary. The time is now! [Pictures when Jennie gets back to her computer.]

That figures, came home a day early. From the slow fishing I saw Saturday and not staying around long enough Sunday, figured Monday would be a little slow until later in the week.

That's what I get from thinking to much instead of just fishing.

Way to go Jen!!

Way to go Jennie. Thanks for your help on getting me signed on. Keep fishing because some of us cannot get out of our boring work schedules. Poor planning or poor timing? Both appears to be the norm for now.
