Default Astoria High School "Fishermen" - class of \'76

Are any of you ifish members "Fishermen" grads? Just curious. After we ate dinner at Gearhart by the Sea golfcourse country club Sat. night I did something I haven't done since last week - crashed a party . Actually this was the first time since the youthful days, and first ever for my wife after coaxing her along. We just went around the building and walked up to the registering table (out on the patio where people were drinkin it up - while inside they were listening/dancing to a live band). We quickly put on name tags and sauntered on in to rehash old times with some "Fishermen" . After lots of funny stares, made up stories, and getting into buoy 10 discussions with groups of guys while my wife sat down and rolled her eyes , I even convinced one gal that had a few drinks that we dated a couple of times. This is a fun thing to do! Give it a try. .... Any good party crash stories out there? (If there are some posted, I have a couple funny ones from long ago - maybe).

Hey RT. I heard a rumor that some guy in Astoria was looking for a gate crasher that was hustling his wife. He was at the local gun shop looking at some hard and big stuff. He said he was going hunting. Hummm. You didn't see anyone there doing that did you? Hope you had fun.

Seriously, we had our 40th last year at OC and we invited the 2 classes before and after to the Friday open house and it was a ball. We enjoyed the gate crashers.

Good fishing.

Hawg, the best story I've ever heard about crashing a party was written in a national sports mag - could have been SI. The story was on the NFL's 'CRAZY Tim Rosavich'. He was one of those ultra wild football players many years ago - maybe OD'd on steroids and uppers? Anyway, he was infamous for doing crazy funny things off the field too. ...

The best party crash story (with wittnesses in the national mag article) was when he was in college - USC I think - and went in front of a couple friends to crash a huge frat party. He put on several layers of insulated clothes and thick vaseline on his exposed skin and hair ... and poured gasline on the outter clothes. One of his friends rang the doorbell and when they heard it opening they light him on fire. Rosavich casually walks right into the main crowded room - on fire! People were horrified looking at this huge lineman aflame. He looks around and asks "what's up?" ... then says loudly, "you guys just don't know how to have a hot party" and walks out. Hosed off by his laughing buddies outside. Try to top that gag! ...

In that same article it told of the time he went into a crowded ladies shoe store all dressed up nicely. When salesman were in the backroom or at the cash register he would sit down on the salemen's stool to 'help' sell shoes to waiting women. He started off by gently removing a shoe, asking some foot Q's, and then he would put their big toe in his mouth and start to mumble stuff. Of course the look on the women's faces were hilarious to his buddies watching this thru the store window. Cool guy! ...

In fact, he was so crazy wild on field that on one Sunday he broke his ankle so badly that it flopped out to the side ... he gets back up and still chases after the ball carrier, running on his now stubby flopping footed leg. Geeeeeez!
