Default Antique outboard parts

Stevens' Marine: "Stevens Marine."

Phish_On: "I'm searching for a part for an old Mercury outboard, I wanted to check if you might have it."

SM: "Just a second, I'll transfer you to the Old Mercury Parts Section." (OK, that was a joke? ha!) "Hello, this is Mike."

P_O: "Hi, Mike, I'm looking for a fuel pump diaphragm for an old Mercury outboard, I think it's a '62 - Merc 300M."

SM: "Oh I don't have any reference materials before 1965. I'm afraid I can't help you."

P_O: "Nothing before 1965? I have a '58 also!"

SM: (not amused) "No. You probably have to try Seaway Marine in Seattle."

P_O: "OK, thanks."

Oregon Outboard Salvage: "Oregon Outboard Salvage, this is Mike"

(These guys are all named Mike?)
P_O: "Hi, I'm looking for a fuel pump diaphragm for an old Mercury outboard, I think it's a '62."

OOS: "OK, do you have a part number or anything on that."

P_O: "There's a part number on the fuel pump, it's 23008"

OOS: "Yeah, OK, there's like 3 bolts that hold it on?"

P_O: "Right."

OOS: "OK, yeah, we've got a bunch of those."

P_O: "Thanks, I'll come in a little later."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is like the third time these guys have come through for me - Oregon Outboard Salvage is declared the official parts supplier for Team Kiekhaefer!
I called around for some Kiekhaefer parts for a 50's engine and nobody wanted to talk to me. Best advice I got was to join a Antique Outboardmotor Club. Did not try the OOS. I'll try them next.
