Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
September 8th, 2001 at our house.
We need a count, as soon as possible to see if we need a porta potty, and how much corn on the cob from the duck lake.
I hope to use Bait of Eggs big bbq, and hope that people will enjoy fishing on T bay this year.
We need people with boats to take those who don't have boats.
I need to know how many people need a room at Shilo so that I can see if I can get a group discount.
Please, RSVP me if you would like to attend.
Remember, nights are cold, so dress warmly.
Limited camping is available at Kilchis River park up the road, and we can keep a couple of tents, or campers here.
It'll be a whole bunch of fun, and I hope to have a couple raffles or prizes, or something.
Dang, I gotta get to work on this!
Jen

All I can say Jen is my heart got broked in two when you changed the date . I had the weekend of Aug 18 off and 'ya changed it to a weekend I work. Oh well maybe next year? How about giving me dibbs on calling the date for next year?

Oh well, I hop you have a great time .

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
I'll give a tentative yes because I have some friends coming up from the southern end of the state for some fishing and if they're up to it there will be 3 or 4 of us. Depends on whether we fish the bay or some tidewater destination.

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
Jen,
Let me talk to Mrs. Fisherman about that date. Maybe she could plug her new "Fishermans widow" club. She wants to do arts and crafts and tell lies about the men while we are busy fishing .
Anyway, thanks for making it available. Maybe I could bring some Halibut .
Roy, Are you gonna bring some of those BBQ crab? Yum.
Maybe Pilar will bring some Tuna?
Drifty is pretty good with that smoker, right Drifty...
Dan! What are you gonna bring.
Maybe I'll bring a cornbread stuffed Coho.
I'd like to try that Blackberry Cobbler that was posted earlier...
I gotta stop... I'm getting hungry and I just had smoked Silver and fresh Albacore Tuna melts and some of the wifes famous macaroni salad....
Come on guys, let's grub!

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
It is too far to drive from Pittsburg, PA on the 15th, Jen. If you set it up for the 8th, the 22nd or later, Ginny & I will be there with bells on.
Last year was great....we had been looking forward to getting together with everyone this year too.

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
Jen,
Talked to Mrs. Fisherman.
The 15th is fine, the 22nd would be too. The wife wants to meet all those responsible for making her a fishing widow.(JK)
The 8th is out cause I will be fishing. I coordinated the trip so I should be there, besides, it's lucky to have me on the boat .
Just post the date and let the chips fall where they may.
I know it will be a great get together but the group is so big that a few of us are bound to miss it for what ever reasons.
Maybe we could just set a date and make it an annual event that we could plan around. Make it like the first weekend in September (My annual company fishing trip is the second week but we couldn't get the date this year. ) or something like that.
Hope we are able to make it.
Thanks,
Ray

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
The 8th or the 15th should be a go. Just pick a date and we'll go from there. I've got about 40 lbs of elk hamburger from last year that needs to get cleared out of the freezer by this fall. Gotta make room ya know. Might be good on a BBQ. Really really hope to be there and will plan on it, but I won't know for sure for another couple of weeks. Hope to see ya'll then.

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
So, the 22nd? Glenn and Ginny are really special to me, and they can't be there the 15th.
Salmonater? Bigstew? 22nd?
The salmon bite should be better then too!
Argh! This is tough! I don't want to miss anyone!
Jen

As Jen would say... AAARGHHH! Looks like we'll have to shoot for next year. What are the odds of it being on a work weekend three years in a row?

I would like to go but it will be tough. Maybe if you enticed everyone with chipping in on a large trolling rig equipped with a bbq like they have in Hawaii more folks would be there , just a thought!!

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
Jen, I will be back in town by then, I may be able to make it. I will need to play with my family for a few days and then I might be able to get out to play....
I will have to play it by ear so be patient with me. If I do make it will I will be looking to hitch a ride with someone to fish for the day I can bring bait and such, anyone? Tight lines, Kim

I too will likely have new born daughter at that time so I am out of commission from traveling for a few months, but next year I plan to make it up to fish the infamous T-Bay and would love to meet some of you folks sometime!

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
Things like this only open to those "in the club"?? What about a Big Fish Newby/Virgin like me? I would be completely empty handed though, so that might be a pain in the *** for y'all. I have a fly rod, but nothing for big fish. I left my regular fishing gear in TX when I moved up here. Sounds like this is a "family" thing anyway. Besides, I wouldnt know the first thing about catching salmon or any other BIG fish.
Have a great time though!

Hi Jenny,
I vote for the 22nd, I can't make it on the 15th. Besides the fishing should be better then anyhow!

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
It is September 8th.
I am SO sorry to all who can't make it, but that is what the majority has written and works best for us.
I need to sooner or later get a count on this, k?

Sorry again, to all who can't attend.

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
To make things perfectly clear:
We will not be providing alcohol at this event, and are discouraging the over consumption.
This is a get together to get to know each other and to fish and EAT!
(Mostly eat!!!)
Most of us don't need to drink a bunch of alchohol to have fun, anyway.
This is a party where families are welcome.
Just a reminder, also, neighbors are State Police on both sides of our home!
So, come on down, go fishing, get to know your ifish friends. Last year it was a blast!
Jen

Re: Ifish potluck and bbq (Ifishstock 2001)
I get confused so easily these days, it's either the age thing or I spent too nuch time trying to understand some of the posts on the net thread. Is it set for September 22nd? If so, I think i can be there if don't get too confused on the drive down. Lets see, you turn right at Cedar Bay, or is it left or do you go straight, no thats Kimmels, it must be right, right.......

That would be fine, it doesn't start till around 3. I'll post all details soon.
