Default Tying the double hook rigging

First post here but I have been a fan for a while and want to thank everybody for the great help and advice! I am to take my dad to bouy 10 on Thursday. I took a drive up there yesterday (I live in Oregon City). Everybody on the docks said it was slow - not much of a tied.

Now to my real question how do I tie the double hook riggin. I bought some of the barbless hooks from gram... and now I want to tie them up. I have done a search on hook tieing but didn't find what I was looking for.

I've gone to Bob's Pictorial Pursuits but I could not find the mooching rig knots there. I want my second hook to be able to slide up and down the line.

Thanks in advance - the worst day of fishing is better than any day of work!

The bottom hook is tied using the basic "Egg Loop" knot. The top hook is tied with the same knot...but you use a seperate piece of line after you've slipped the main leader line that your bottom hook is tied to through the eye of the top hook. I like to use dacron line on the top hook. A few tries will get you there. I'd also reccommend Ultragreen Maxima for the leader material, but that's just my own preference. Good luck, and be safe out there!!

Thanks Fishing Mission. That is almost to simple!

I've heard fish 10 on the incoming and then down by the bridge on the outging is that correct?

The Rip would be when it is changinging from incoming to out going, right? And that is what we really want to be careful of, right?

I'm real seasoned at the Newport bar but this will be the first at the Columbia. I would rather error on the side of safe than be daring and dead! We are taking a 23' Larson cuddy (nice deep V) out there. That boat and I have been accross Newport bar many times. I won't have Radar (like I do on my 28' Bayliner) but I guess if we can't see we don't need to be out there in the shipping lanes.
