Helpful hint for scratched DVD's
I almost never watch TV, unless I visit my family. Happened to be there Tues. morning to catch about 5 minutes of one of the morning shows talking about helpful hints.
Anway, if you have a scratched DVD that skips badly, you can apply Pledge furniture polish (spray type) onto the back of the DVD, and then wipe it off with a clean rag. The skip will stop.
Tried this tonight on a DVD I thought was a goner. It totally worked! Very cool!

Good to know. I figured it wasn't limited to furniture polish, but didn't know what else might qualify.

Re: Helpful hint for scratched DVD's
I've heard of using Turtle Wax to fix scratched CD's, I even know of a couple of used CD stores that keep a tub of it behind the counter. It sounds like this is the same basic idea but it's always good to have options.

Re: Helpful hint for scratched DVD's
What it does it fills the scratches in the plastic works great any clear car wax or polish works also if you have glasses with fine scratches it works on that also fills it in and they go away. Also Tooth paste is a light abrasive and will buff scratches out also rp
