Fishing from the beach, need some help, please.

Howdy.

I will be up at Pacific Beach this weekend and I am looking for some advice on how to fish for surf perch. I have a fairly stout casting rod, caught a 27lb king on it once, and I am wondering what the propper gear set-up would be. weight size, style, hook size, bait needed, etc.

Someone from Bob's board said that there was some helpful info posted over here a few weeks ago, but after searching for a while, I couldn't locate it. Your help is appreciated and I thank you in advance for your replies.
