Default 1st Buoy 10 experience

I experienced my 1st buoy 10 trip yesterday. I don’t like I could have picked a better day to go. No wind and temperature in the 80’s what a beautiful day. We started fishing at 11:00 and were done at 1:00 5 silvers , 1 18lbs nook and 16 keeper crabs.

John, I fished the day before and it was my first time on the water in about 12 years. Same results. 8 fish limit in about three hours. Not much changed because there are still a lot of loose nuts floating around buoy # 10. We got a 35# nook, and that is the way I remember the good old days.

I will be going to Buoy 10 Sunday. High tide is very early and has been all week. Did you fish the outgoing tide, or wait until the afternoon to fish the incoming?

JP 1,
Great trip on your first time out. We were there as well both Thursday and Friday with Thursday the better day. A great bite about 1:00 right at ten. There wasn't much change from high to low, so the rip wasn't as dramatic as it could be. Fish it next week for a little different experience. Lots more fish, if that's possible, as well. By the way, where did you drop your crab pots? We dumped ours off of Sand Island both days and found them run by someone before we got there: Both Days.......Bummer. Oh, before I forget, lots of Chinook today both at the green can coming out of Ilwaco on the slack at 25-35 pulls and at Buoy 10 when the tide started to run this afternoon. Ours, short and squat about 25#, came at 14 pulls at 10, but we lost one and had another take down just outside the harbor 5 minutes after we started fishing. Thanks to everyone that noticed us out there and said hello. It's great putting faces to everyones posts. Have a Great Day! Tight Lines.
