Default Columbia Help

I've got a hall pass this Saturday and I'm a little torn as to what to do. My five year old grandson is holding me to my promise to take him fishing. He did real well on trout at estacada this spring and summer. My question is. Has anyone played around for bass, walleye, etc. in the Chinook landing area on the incoming tide. Location, lures, bait etc. would be helpful. On the tide change, we'll anchor up and try for salmon or steelhead. Once again, hot lures, depths etc. would be helpful. I'll probably dunk a blob of worms for him to see what's down there. A pikeminnow would thrill him to death. In a couple of years he'll be right there on the big fish

Don't settle for a pikeminnow or simply dunking worms. Go find 12-17 ft of water with some current and put out a X-4, X-5 or U-20 flatfish 50 feet behind the boat. Don't even need a spreader and sinker if you use the U-20. Orange, red or any of several other colors. Then sit back and get ready for a big, big fish for that new fisherman.
