Re: Beavers?????
This is soooo painful to watch. The team is self distructing.
Riley will not be able to recruit any better talent while the team is playing like this.
I have to say... I wish we hadn't extended his contract.

Re: Beavers?????
Fire Riley? NO FIRE LANGSDORF!!!! Its time to cut the Linfield cord. How can you pass the ball with a 2 point lead in the forrth quarter with a running back like Bernard? Run the ball and the clock and whats up with having a D back returning kick offs?? Put a Reciver back there!!!
TOTALLY EMBARRASSING

Re: Beavers?????
How can you expect Bernard to carry the team? I agree they should have rode him hard in the 4th, but cmon. Canfield sucks, they cant stretch the field with flare passes and screens. If he cant run the regular offense than why have him in there. As for the special teams, I think Lawson is OK, but he fell apart after he hit the guy out of bounds cause he is too emotional. Plus name the last person who had a kickoff return for a touch for the beavs.

Re: Beavers?????
Straughter, last year returned punts and kick offs for TD's last year, if I remember. Stretch the field? you have the lead in the fourth quarter, run the ball, burn time off the clock, Why pass the ball on first down?? Why pass to the side lines?? run the ball and keep the clock running. A one yard gain with the clock running is better than a incomplete pass that stops the clock.

Re: Beavers?????
youre right about Straughter, I always forget about him. But its been along time between him and someone before. ha I agree with passing on first down, stupid. But they should have scored 27 in the first half, with that offense not stretching the field, they stack 9 in the box. I wish we could hand off every play, but its not the way it goes. I guess there is always next year, that is my favorite quote since 1990.

Get real!!
Yup, just as I thought. A couple of losses and fire the coach! That worked for 20 years before didn't it? Erickson may want to come back.
I see Brooks is 5-0 at Kentucky. You know the Beavers could have had him long ago, but no they took Fertig!

Re: Beavers?????
DAM!!!!!!
As far as Canfield goes, he's just a Soph. Unfortunately, it's going to take time for him to get up to speed. Would have been a much nicer season if he could have stepped up quickly, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Remember Moore? Remember Anderson? They both got off to very shakey starts but did pretty good if I remember right. I remember a lot of fans chanting for Canfield last year about this time
On the bright side Bernard ran well tonight and the D has been really strong. Special teams and the QB just need to step up

Re: Beavers?????
STEP UP! It would be nice if they just bothered to show up!!!!!!!! Had to turn it off. Next week just going fishing and no radio, just brings back memories of bad teams and self destruction.

Re: Beavers?????
For Beaver fans that was tough to watch.
As Stu said Canfield, is young and it shows. Beavs need to do a better job of getting some QB's ready to go so graduation doesn't kill them like Canfield is doing this year. If it were njuries I wouldn't blame the coaches but they know Matt Moore was going to graduate--they need some stud QB chomping at the bit and waiting in the wings to show his talents.
They should have tired to run and let the D get er done.
Hopefuly they can get it together and knock the Ducklings out of a big bowl at the end of the year!!

Re: Beavers?????
They seem to play a good first quarter and then they go flat. Canfield is on a huge learning curve and throwing lots on INT's. I've only seen one Beaver game this year and it was against Cincy. What is Canfield doing? Throwing into double and triple coverage? I noticed in the Cincy game he seemed to lock onto his receiver and ends up throwing that way regardless of the coverage.

Re: Beavers?????
That was painful again yesterday. Beavs under Riley seem to start fairly fast, then can't seem to make adjustments like the other teams.
Seemed to be a whole bucket of problems yesterday. Canfield is painful to watch as is Serna trying to punt. Number 5 made a whole bunch of absolutely grade school mistakes in the fourth quarter. Too embrassed to put his name here.
Riley is not the leader needed either.:blush:
