I'll be there this weekend also. Watch for the 14' Aluminum with wood trim and an assembly for a cover on the front with no cover hooked to it. Will most likely stay and Pacific Cove. This is my first trip there so I will be trying to follow the locals. You might check on bait before you go. I called a few shops this morning and will be picking mine up in Tillamook on the way there.

No prob.

I would sugjest you fish with cut plug herring behind a three way swivel or spreader wth lead on the bottom. This is the standard for chinook and from past experience coho take this set up very well.

I stoped by the Clackamas office of ODFW today to puchase a "hatchery fish tag" to fill up with silvers and I grabed one of those regs I talked about above.

It's called, "2001 Oregon Ocean Salmon and Halibut Sport Fishing Regulations with Modifications to Salmon and Sturgeon Regulations for the Columbia River System and Coastal Bays and Rivers"

What a mouth full!

Default fin clipped silvers can be kept at Nehalem jetty

In the regs it states that fin clipped coho can be kept up the the immaginary line at the county park.

In the updated regs that cover ocean and Columbia River seasons that came out late spring/early summer it states we are now allowed to keep fin clipped coho out the the jaws of the jetty on Nehalem starting August first and at Tillamook starting September first.

It's about time ODFW let us retain silvers at Nehalem Bay. I am planning on being there on Saturday, any suggestions on rigging to use for silvers in the jaws? Flasher or not, cutplug or whole bait and what size herring?
