hey kyle,
i would recommend going up to faraday lake up 224 a little way past estacada. most people will tell you to run powerbait off the bottom on about a 2ft leader. if you can find a spot at the end of the dam, wedge yourself in and go for it. good luck!

Hi Kyle and Welcome,
The Dam is a good spot at Faraday and I have also had Success what looks like a boat ramp. When you cross the bridge and get to the lake turn left, then walk about a 1/4 mile or so. You'll see it when you get to the lake. You'll see a shallow area and what looks likea ledge. Cast over the ledge and watch. Another good spot is at the end of Faraday Lake to the left which is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. You'll see it when you get to a big pipe line that comes in to the lake. There's also a bridge there people claim to have caught fish but I haven't, You'' see that on the way. Power bait works the best in that lake. They also stock it pretty good for the Summer and have seen people pull out big brood stock too. Good Luck.

Fly fishing, or bait? If its fly fishing, I know some good productive spots...

Salmon Creek, Deschutes upstream from Maupin on the dirt road past the gate (HUGE ones there, but finiky), Crooked River in the winter, Metolius around Camp Sherman, I could go on and on... consult some good books, they'll tell you whats up.

If you want to catch fish close to home, throw a nightcrawler (on a HOOK & line) into the Willamette around Dahl Park.

TROUT are not likely (and will be steelhead babies) but BASS are fun.

If you want to drive up towards Mount Hood, try Trillium Lake, Clear Lake, Timothy Lake ...

This is not the best time of year for trout, but it's better to fish than to not fish!

If you want to drive a little bit, try Detroit Reservoir, or the one just below Detroit, Big Cliff Reservoir. Big Cliff is usually a good bet this time of year. It's a reregulation reservoir that gets water out of the bottom of Detroit, so the water is usually colder than the other lakes.
