Open Seat/Blind
Jeremy sent me a PM asking about having this thread. Thanks for the idea Jeremy.
So if you have a open seat or are just looking for a hunting partiner post it up here and go hunting.
I can't wait for the season to start.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
I have a reservation for Deadwillow unit at SI on opening day.
I have never hunted this or any other roam unit, and like others on this forum, I learnt that only the reservation holder can hunt in a Roam unit and you can't bring 3 other people along like the blind units.
So if anyone else has a deadwillow reservation for 10/13/2007 and would like to team up for some opening day carnage, I'm open to sharing a roam spot.
Send me a PM if interested.

This will be the first year that I will be duck hunting. I have been out with friends as a watcher but never as a shooter. Does anyone wanna take a newbie out and kind of show him the ropes? I know how to handle a shotgun and would love to shoot some ducks. Thanks guys..

Towards the coast, it was pretty good. Coulda limited on mallards early but had to wait for shots over the water without a dog. Didn't want to lose any birds in the tall grass.

I am headed out hunting on Thursday for hunt in the marsh. It would be a walk in hunt, about 1 mile? Anybody want to come along? I am in Coos Bay.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
I have a field lined up that had a bunch of geese in it tonight. It is picked corn with a small amount of water in it. There is room for one more (maybe two) and it would be nice to have some more goose decoys. Hunting Saturday and leaving from Eugene. The field is about 1 hour north. Let me know if you are interested.
went this morning (sat.) on my own and had great success. There were cacklers all over the place. Was out of the field by 8:30 with my geese and a few mallards. Going again tomorrow and would like some company if anyone is interested.

Anybody want to duck hunt on sunday? I lost my hunting partner and I haven't had any luck drawing poker chips on the west side. I'm up for anything. I'm pretty new to duck hunting and not real good on a call but love to hunt and am eager to learn new tricks. Let me know if your interested.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
Sandy is a little far from Brownsmead. If you live in Sany try the Sandy River delta. It has a lot of good walk in areas.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
I am headed east this Wed AM with the german shorthair. Was planning to hunt Wanaket or around the McCormick unit early for ducks then switch to upland. I heard the upland populations are down a bit ..not sure how good it will be. So if someone has the day off or a better place..I'm game. I also have a Washinton license.
Thanks

Open Seat/Blind-LOOKING TO CATCH A RIDE
I would like to join someone who is hunting the Lower Columbia (Oregon side) this Saturday 11/3 for a day oh duckin. Don't care if it's divers, puddlers or a mixed bag. Got the hall pass for the entire day too. I will help with gas & food costs....and tell a bad joke once in a while too.
I am fully set up for puddlers (6-7 doz decoys, windspinner, pull string spinner, jerk cord) but do not have any set gear for divers.
So if you have an open seat, please let me know.
Jim

Headhunter, keep me in mind and PM me next month and I can help you get into some divers. They're just too dang much fun not to hunt a bunch late in the season.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
Anybody have room for another gun in a Columbia Basin weekday Elk hunt? My hunting partner waited too long to buy his tag and couldn't get it. So now I am probably stuck hunting for an animal I've never hunted before in an area I'm not familiar with or bag the elk hunt for this year.:frown:
If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey there, Jokester. I sent you a pm, and would love to hook up for a threesome--a good number for fun, chip grabbing and shooting! My cell is in the pm, and I will be ther at 4:45. We have a cart, several doz deekes, and lots of ambition.

I am and may have an open seat, I am kind of tired of hunting alone. My regular hunting partner works an odd schedule and usually doesn't know if he has to work until the last min; unfortunately.
I can’t promise what the results will be as it has been hit or miss the so far this season, but last weekend there were birds in the area but the tide and weather did not cooperate all that much so I only knocked down a pair of Mallards.
I've got the boat, dog, decoys and such...
PM me if you are interested and we can work out any details.

SIMudbugger, We better upgrade our seating.
Howlemup and his buddies use some high class equipment,
look at those lawns chairs in the ifish appreciation post.
See you guys Friday morning.

Sent you a PM drifting, no one should have to hunt the westside by themselves. Lets see what Friday morning brings, hopefully some better weather and more birds.

No problem, I understand the power of the W's.
We'll be sure to take plenty of pictures and send em to ya.
Get well, the season is only 1/3 over.

Take her with you if she is that concerned! She can make us all some chicken soup in the blind, i'll bring my stove. Lor it looks like we will just have 2 hands in the bag tomorow. Anyone wanna hunt with a couple of old pros?
Lor has a REAL nice cart and we both shoot horribly so you would probably have a good chance at some birds whoever you are........

Re: Open Seat/Blind
OK
I have a reservation for Ridgefield on Sat. Nov 24.
My son and brother backed out and Now I am by myself.
I can have 2 additional guests with me.
I have some experience and can call some.
I am prepping the dekes and I have a new pull cord to test out.
If you would like to join me, please let me know.
You don't need a Res. but we all have to check in at the same time.
I think it still costs $5.00 to hunt and there is a 25 shell limit.
Thanx.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
Looking to tag along with someone in the Sandy Delta area. I may not even bring my gun since I don't have the federal duck stamp yet. Never hunted duck before and want to see how it's done.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
fishncliff, the fee to hunt now is $8 if you have more than one hunter or $10 if you're hunting solo. They start things off 1 hour and 45 minutes before shooting time so plan on being there about 2 hrs before.
I might be down there with my partner or we may try some other spot due to the numbers not being great yet. This colder weather should hopefully improve things down there.

Re: Open Seat/Blind
I'll be on the Westside in the AM pulling chips. Anybody want to go in together give me a pm. I've got decoys, spinner, jerk rig and a dog.
