Default news on mag & wiggle wart?

I was in GI-Joes and asked someone behide
the counter about adding bead-chain and
bigger hooks to wiggle warts. He say's ok
I'll show you what to use. I follow him
as he walks back and forth saying "now
were do they put those things." After he
shows me the beads and stuff, he says he
the Storm rep, and strom is discontinuing the wiggle and mag warts because the molds have worn out. He then says the new ones
will not be as good and if I like the olds
on the market now I shoud buy all I can now!
Anyone know anything about this?
Sound a little fishy to me (no pun intened)

Regardless, I'm sure the Storm rep is pleased that you have publicly spread that rumor so his territorial sales, and commissions, will jump. Or are you secretly a Storm rep? ... jk

I haven't heard such a thing! Sounds like a clever strategy to get you to buy a bunch of plugs. Rumors have been circulating for years that Storm is going out of business, but as far as I know that is untrue. However, they are going to/have already discontinued some colors of warts since they just don't sell. One of my favorite colors was discontinued and my dad lost the last plug we had in that color this spring.

Hey KB, first time for me too. But I have seen it happen to others before. And interestingly, we had the same opinion.

Storm was bought out by
Normark(rapala) last year. The Pacific
Northwest is about the only place that
buys them. It would be a shame if that
rumor was true. Drop Normark an Email
and tell em how much you love em!

Anyone heard anything about Mag Hot-N-Tots?
I picked a bunch up last winter when they started selling them again but recently I have not been able to locate any. I have been looking at G.I. Joes, Bi-Mart, and Fisherman's. There seems to be plenty of the smaller sizes but no Mag's.

Something I have been wondering about the "Wart Family" is: are color patterns produced for specific regions, like the Cop Car? I've never seem that particular scheme listed in any catalog, online or otherwise, although they are available in this area.

Any ideas?

First of all G.I. Joe's at this time has no Storm Rep's or any other Reps working the floors ..They also do not get paid by how much they sale as some who work there would like. The Kid was just blowing smoke trying to look good. The out fit was sold well over a year ago as Fear no Fish has said. The new out fit sent the work over the boarder to have them done. This is one reason it is hard to get one out of the box to run tru.

So how many Oakie Drifters have you seen on the market lately? Rumor has it Luhr Jensen decided not to rebuild the molds when they wore out, so why not Storm....???? Talk about hostile take overs...! I'd like a 1000 of the old finger nail polish pink Oakies....

OK, so now I've got a question. Does anybody have Storm's catolog of all their lures? Or do they have such a thing anymore? I tried sending the little request card from a lure box in to the below address, but it was sent back saying no such address exists anymore.

P.O. Box 720265
Norman, Ok 73070-4199

Is this just an old address, or??

Email me if you have another address and don't want to post it.

Krome Brite: Try Storm Lures. It doesn't look like they have an address listed anywhere, though.

It is true if you want the whole story contact Gary Waterhouse at Great American Tackle in Clackamas. The Mag Warts are soon to be thing of the past, as well as the mag hot n tot. Already for the last year or so since Normark took over a lot of the good colors already have been discontinued on the Wiggle Warts. The ones they do still make have a awful paint job on them and doesn't stay on ther plug very well at all. Norman is starting to make their old plugs again and they will be better much better than the Normark version of the Wart anyway. Normark also owns the Tad Polly plugs, they are also being discountinued.

Did anybody notice that on the Hot N Tot they are replacing the metal lip with polycarbonate. That is going to take a lot of the fish attracting flash from this lure.

Thanks for the site AllThumz. I never knew one existed. I couldn't find an address, either, but if they're discontinuing all Mag Warts then I guess there's no longer a catalog.

You want some oakie drifters you say? I have the original glow in the dark peach colored oakie corkies made by grizzley tackle. The answer is no, I am not selling or giving any away. They are all mine, mine I say! You can watch me use them. Good hunting, or should that be fishing for them.

Oh, and one more thing. What do most people prefer to pull? A wiggle wart or a hot 'n tot?
