Doug-here my report on the Alsea River, fished from the mouth of Drift Creek all the way up to Kozy Kove Launch. About 6 boats on the river, no fish, talked to some locall home owners along the way, same story, still to early for the main river. However I went to a meeting Tuesday night with the ODFW concerning the Siletz River brood stock program, at the meeting there was three guys from Waldport who had fished the mouth of the Alsea over the weekend, there report was one on and lost on Sat. and three on and landed one on Sunday. So there are some fish at the mouth. The channel has moved clear to the south side and straight out into the ocean. Good Luck and Be Carefull!

Doug, no i live in Newport, but fish the Alsea the month of Sept. My folks come over from the valley and spend the month of Sept. on the river at a RV park. So i fish with my dad and friends on the weekends. Then in Oct is start fishing the Siletz River as soon as the water come up.I work full time for the PUD (power co) and a part time guide in the fall and winter for chinook and steelhead. Good Luck on the Alsea and enjoy your stay, the weather here today is hot and no wind.
