Default North Coastal Tidewater

I know some of you have been fishing or at least watching the Nestucca,Trask,Wilson,Salmon, ect... rivers tidewater sections for those early fall chinook. Anyone caught/seen any caught yet?
I was on the Nestucca opening day and didnt see a thing not even a single fish rolling. Just wondering if any of the rivers have fish in them yet? I know its just a matter of time but I would luv to get in on a lil early tidewater action!

I know the steelhead are in the rivers! There is one less chrome summer and one less rerunner for the hatchery guys to deal with!

Typically the tidewater sections of the north Oregon coast rivers won't see too many fish until September. There are exceptions to this but a lot of it depends on the arrival of the fall rains.

I remember hearing locals talk about getting into the Coho in Lewis River Cedar Creek late Aug. Some said it was hot. Did they shoot up with rain or not?

Looking back through my pictures....my earliest fish on the Salmon River was August 23rd. My earliest on the Siletz was August 18th. There's fish around somewhere, I'd bet on it, just not many. Remember, almost everywhere, that the early fish tend to be BIG!! Especially on the Siletz.

I fished on the Nestucca all weekend. I only saw 3 steelhead caught the whole time. One was a small native I caught on sunday. I didn't see any salmon.
