Default Kudos to ODFW and volunteers

I took my son out to Sauvie Island yesterday to get some tips on his shotgunning skills from the ODFW guys and some volunteers. They were putting on a shotgun clinic for youth hunters. They also had a youth only Pheasant hunt. I just wanted to tell them that they are doing a great service and that they are appreciated. My son and I both had a great experience and as usual the ODFW staff and their volunteers do an outstanding job for us all. Thanks again

Yea, thanx I took my nephew who had never shot a gun to the shotgun skills area. Thanx for showing him the proper way of shooting a shotgun.
I hope to get him out as a mentored youth for waterfowl, the shotgun clinic was a good introduction to the outdoors for him.

Thanx

I agree!

ODFW and the volunteers need a big pat on the back for their efforts at the youth pheasant hunts this year. We took 3 boys over to the event in Tygh Valley on Saturday and they bagged 4 birds between 'em. Well, three really 'cause the dog got the first one - but that's another story. Yesterday we took four kids out to Sauvie Island but unfortunately neither the birds nor the weather wanted to cooperate and we came home empty handed.

There's still more birds to be had at other events around the state next weekend at EE Wilson WA, Denman WA, Irrigon WA and Baker City. Lots of time left to round up a few new hunters and head afield!
