Default oregon college football safety

watching the clips from yesterdays game, i saw several helmet straps hanging loose and two helmets fly off. is not the coach resposable for the saftey of the players and the gear they wear. seeing this blatantly unsafe practice happening, just gets me very agravated towards the sport of football and my tax dollars being spent for incompetance

I noticed the same with most the teams. Oregon State's star running back was continualy losing his helmet. I also noticed that he put it back on w/o needing to unsnap/snap the strap. Looked like a pair of slip on shoes the way it operated.
Must be the new cool look. Agree that it's not a good deal.

Guess the good thing is that they won't use it as a weapon if it's not on.

I've seen that on every game so far. I have mentioned that many times to our friends, and am very concerned about players safety as well. The next time I talk with Bellotti or another coach I will ask that question.
It was really a shame that a Fresno State player broke his lower leg in the game. The crowd gasped when his leg was dangling in a very unnatural position. I hope his leg will heal OK.

What's worse is when the announcers play it up when a guy loses his helmet.

"The guy lost his helmet, and still made the tackle. Talk about one tough kid."

And what about shoes? Why are they always losing their shoes? Can't they design something that will stay on their feet?

faulty gear, i doubt it. faulty coaching is what i'm thinking. do they not have the power to demand compliance to safety rules. are the players running the team or is the head coach. i would be in the face of any player not using all the required safety gear properly. use it or get off my field. i have meet oregon players who are crippled for life from playing football. it is a problem and a sad sight to see a 30 year old having a hard time getting out of a chair and limping to the dinner table.
