Default What Size Generator?

I am thinking of getting a generator for charging my trolling batteries when camping. Sites with electrical hookups are not always available.

Charger is a 3 bank 15 amp and in additon is a one bank 15amp so I guess thats a total of 4 banks at 15amps. What size generator will I need to get the job done correctly?

The new euro type super quiet generators are tempting but awfull spendy. Anyone have experience with those or any other quality and quiet compact models?

Thanks in advance.

15amp 12v dc chargers ran on 110 v ac are about 220 watts per 15 amp charger. 220x4=880x2 for surge or 1760watt minimum generator. i would buy a 2000 watt honda

1) Most of the newer generators have a built in battery charger.
2) Unless you are dry camping by yourself, get one of the "quiet" generators. Your neighbor's will be thankful.
3) I upgraded from a Coleman 1850 to a Honda EU2000i about 7 years ago, and it was one of the best camping decisions that I ever made.

Of course, the higher the KW rating the more things that you can do with it.
