Default Looking for guitar repair

My son just purchased an acoustic guitar with a great sound but it has a fairly significant split in the neck. Does anyone know of a reliable place that does that kind of repair? He wants to try to do it himself but I'd hate to see him possibly make it worse.

I would take it over to Ken at 5 Star Guitar in Tanesborn and let him take a look at it. If it is some thing that he can not deal with, he will tell you who can.

I second the 12th Fret recommendation. I've heard really good things regarding their repair shop.

My son just gets out the super glue on the elk cutting table and goes to work. LOL

I had a guitar re-setup and pickup install by 12th fret and they did great job. Depending on how much the guitar cost, it may honestly be cheaper to buy a new one..

What is the make of the guitar?

Also I can fix cheap if you can not find another solution...

But realy I have 9 guitars right now [down from 13] and could realy tell you if it is worth fixing or getting a new one.

If its a squire or anything un 200.00$ bucks, go get a new one and this time pay 400 so it does not split again : ) LOL IIIIIIF you payed over 500 get an estimate or perform the method above described by Jennie...

The guitar is an 'Art Lutherie', unknown vintage. It's got a lot of French on the inside label - appears to be Canadian made? He just bought it used for way under $200, so it may not be worth fixing. He's a good musician but was cleaned out by the band he was in in LA and is starting from square one with not a dime or instrument to his name, so the fix needs to be cheap cheap. It may be time to get the gorilla glue out.......

Thanks for the input,

Ted & son
