Search Results:
"Boat Paint" http://www.ifish.net/board/search.php?searchid=575448
"Boat Camo" http://www.ifish.net/board/search.php?searchid=575450

Lots of good info for the digging. Headhunter did a nice job on his, check out his boat posts.

I am a firm believer in sandpaper and rattlecans of Olive drab, flat black, and Sea Moss color.

Maybe some sage or tan in there too (depending on where you park the boat).

I hit it each season... kind of an abstract art camoflage, may write a secret message and mix it into the patches of color.

That way, the ducks focus on trying to make out the message written on the side of the boat, and I can blast them while they try to read it.

What I did on my brother's boat last year is started with a base coat of a military tan all over the entire boat. Once that dried, we made a stencil of broad blade grasses, cat tails, etc. whatever you will be hunting in. Make sure not to make it too thick. We fashioned it with a 18"x6" piece of cardboard and duct taped the stems to the cardboard, and paint in in small sections (Be warned though; if you get too much paint on your stencil, you run the risk of getting runs in your paint and making your pattern inconsistent as well as ruining your stencil). As far as colors go, we used mainly brown and olive drab. If you'd like to see a picture; pm me or I can email it to you since the file is too large to attach to a post.
