Default Flashers?

Just trying to get and idea on what everybody's favorite flashers are. Used to be when I first started fishing the lower Columbia we never even used flashers, just a diver and a plug cut herring is all you needed. I myself, these past couple of years have been using herring dodgers, they really seem to help. Please let me know what your favorites are.

Tri Flash White/glow/silver, Green/glow/silver, Chartreuse/chrushed/transparent in that order. Herring w/54 in. leader attached to the outside clip, works for me.

Haven't fished the lower columbia yet, but back in California for Chinook, we used big hot spots in white, red and orange, or bechtold and sons, with about a 48" leader. But if I can catch fish without a flasher, it stays in the box. When a flasher fouls, you get a nasty tangle. And with big 12" flashers, you can lose big fish when they throw their heads around and pull against the flasher. So when fishing got tough, and flashers were called for we started hooking the flasher to the cannonball, with 6-8' of 60# mono and running the lines about 10' up the rigger cable. Works great, and no flasher to fight against the fish, way less tangles.

Can't wait to try the technique here, just gotta get me a new boat!

Let me tell ya alittle story. Last year I thought my boat was jinxed as we were getting skunked on a regular basis at buoy 10 and the bridge, then I started looking at what everyone else was pulling out of the water along with their fish. They had the clear and green reflective delta divers and the triangular clear and or green flashers. So we spent alittle money and bought this stuff and started catching fish. I seem to have been the only one on the boat with a problem of landing them, everyone else did pretty well.

So thats what I am going to start with this year, maybe something new will be the salmon killer. The best way to find out is get one of those optical fish finders (binoculars) and see what everyone else is using when they pull in the fish.

The powers of observation.

I've been using the fish flash flashers lately and the work well. I like the easy spinning flashers since they have little resistence in the water. I could see how the weight of a salmon could leverage off a large dodger or metal flasher to help throw the hook. Since the fish flash has a bead chain at the top and I use a bead chain at the bottom, there is very little resistence.
I happened to be at Fisherman's today in Portland, last day of their sale. They HAD fish flash flashers on sale. Guess what color they were completely out of.........chartreuse and silver, lots of green/silver, red/silver, blue/silver and silver/silver.

My favorites are chartreuse/silver and red/silver. I'm curious about the blue/silver, anyone try this color yet?

Thanks everyone for the info, try2fish we had a similar experience a couple of years ago when we were limited to fishing above the bridge. Just by looking at the people hooking fish with those big weedchopper flashers we knew we had to try something. After making a run up to Fishermans they definatly made a difference. We did the best with the herring dodger with the hammered nickel pattern.
