How long should I keep ammo?

Just a quick question regarding keeping around old ammunition. I'm a long time Remington fan and I typically buy two new boxes of Core-Lokt just before hunting season. However I'm wondering how long is too long to keep the older stuff. I have a box or two from several years back and wonder if it's still good enough for hunting, target practice, etc. It's been kept free from moisture, heat, etc, in my gun safe so it should be fine right? I mean does ammo really age?

Dark, dry, and cool. Keep all three of those and it will last for a long time.

ammo stored in good conditions will last decades with no noticable difference in performance
