Default Kicker motors and couches

Well I finally went and done it. Ordered a new 9.9 kicker motor for the Ol Sea Swan. Mr. Fisherman you should be happy next time you come bring you extension and I'll let you try it out. Hopefully it will be here before next Friday's Halibut trip. I even splurged and got an electric start. Now I jsut have to figure out how to tell the wife. Anyone have any ideas. I need a new couch I'm thinkin.

Dan!

Hey, good deal Dan. That kicker will not only put you into more fish, it will also be there in case the big motor ever stops in a bad place to be. Let me know if and when you have an open seat for a Bouy 10 trip after I get back in town. Thanks. ....

As for telling your wife about the kicker, try this. --- "Honey, sit down, I have sometihing I need to tell you. This is not going to be easy. I have lost my job. And the car engine has bad rings and can't be sold until we put a rebuilt $4000 engine in it. And I love you so much that I lost $1400 gambling at an Indian casino trying to take care of everything before I told you these aweful things. Stop crying for a minute, will ya! That's been the good news. The bad news is that my mistress of several years has given me an ultimatum to get divorced and marry her or she will leave me. ... You don't care?!? ... OK, and our daughter is prenant. ...Oh, she's only 3? ... Oh ya, the dog is who got pregnant, I think. Stop crying and I will tell you the real news. I just bought a new trolling motor for "our" boat, and that will make it much safer and bring more food to the table so you don't have to spend as much time and money grocery shopping. Stop crying, please! Now the best news is that all of the things I just told you were in jest, except that relatively inexpensive little OB motor I bought for our boat, Honey. And I decided to leave that little hole in the side of the hull instead of spend money fixing it. ..... HEY, don't do that ! Ooooooooooch!!! Geeeeez!"

Worth a try?

You should have bought the couch first. When i bought my new race gun (IPSC) I first let my wife get some cosmetic surgery which was way more expensive. She never even batted and eye when I told her about the gun.

Show her this and tell her this is the man she is preventing with the small investment of the new kicker.
