scents and steelhead

The wife and I are heading out tomorrow on the Columbia. Been using spinners such as Flash Glo's and Blue Foxes on one rod and K10 kwikfish or X4 or X5 flatfish on the other. Are you guys adding any incentive to the lures? What are you doctoring them up with? Scents? Sandshrimp tail? Baitwraps?
What's the secret?

I've tried sandshrimp, sardine, herring, and WD40 scents. And you know what has produced the best - the lures with no scent at all!

This is just my experience, but we've hooked 13 steelhead in 3 trips plus had several more takedowns.

But I always make sure to wash my hands with plain old LOC soap before handling the lures.
