Nice looking girl. Is she a mix or pure GSP? I met a lady on the beach at Gerabaldi that had two pure liver/chocolate GSP's that looked just like yours.

I have a 4 year old black and white GSP that is a great hunter and very good looking . His dad came from Germany and that is why he is black. The Germans allow Black in their GSP breeding.

She is a mix. Chocolate Lab & German Shorthair. Thus "German Chocolate" I also have a male purebred German Shorthair I adopted from someone here on IFISH. I bet your GSP is stunning with black and white..love to see a pic.

What a great looking dog!!

The body looks like a GSP and the neck and head appear to be Lab....talk about the perfect mix. Is the mix breading between these dogs common?

Not too common... but, ironically there was a post recently about a guy asking if he should breed his Chocolate Lab with his GSP. Much debate about whether or not it was a good idea. There is always risk. I for one am a lucky man. My Sierra (guess where her name came from:smile is a great dog. Best of both breeds so far.. Points and retrieves.. honors my GSP when he is on point... she works close and takes direction well. I trained her to hand singles.
