Default S. Santiam

Anyone fished the South Santiam lately? The river level is at 2.7 at waterloo. Is that a level that is driftable w/o knowing the river well. I was thinking about making the drift to waterloo from ? (can't remember the name). Is there a better float? Thanks.

After the wind forced me off of Green Peter today, I stopped off to see what was going on below Foster Dam. I saw two fish landed and two fish lost in about an hour. I had a couple follow my lure in, but no takers. I may have if I was fishing corkies and yarn, but quite frankly, in the S. Santiam this time of year, I end up spending most of my time snagged or removing moss from my gear. Not my idea of a good time. But then again, catching fish is, so that's what I'll be using next time.
