Default Fishing THIS weekend??

Ok, have the next 3 days off and just can't make up my mind. Help me decide where to go launch my sled.

I could chase the Astoria sturgeon, do some crabbing, fish Astoria salmon (weather dependent), south coast chinooks, kokanee, Columbia steelhead, pike minnow bounty fishery or ????????

What's good and what's not? WHAT sounds like fun!!??

Steelhead fishing's been good, except for the stupid wind. I think with the predicted rain coming those winds will die off. We've been getting into fish pretty quickly in the Columbia, with an occasional chinook coming along too. That's where I'm gonna be. Oh...and if you launch at St. Johns...watch the ramp at low tide

FM, I know what you are talking about the ramp at St. Johns. I know it is a little bit longer boat ride but the ramp on Sauvies on Ferry road was redone this winter and has plenty of ramp left even with the low water. It also does not require the wildlife permit for parking.

FM,
Go across the Sauvie Island bridge and go straight pass the store. Continue on the main road until you get to the houseboat moorage and the "Y" in the road. Go straight, don't turn right. You only need to go about three block or so and turn left on the old ferry road. You can't miss it. The old ferry road is right across from the refugee office which is on the right. If you turn down the wrong road try the next one... its right there. It's only about three blocks down the old ferry road to the ramp. (I'm using "blocks" because it's a distance reference. There are not real "city blocks" on the Island of course.)

I hope you can understand my directions. If I'm a bit off I'm sure someone will correct me.

Good luck, David

Exactly what Dogfish said. You will see the new firestation on the right and that is Ferry Road.

ps:You can pick me up too at house number twelve which is where my folks live!
