Default Skykomish River Salmon

Anyone catching any salmon out of the Skykomish yet? Especially around the Two Bit hole. I was going to go up there this weekend and was wondering what I should tie on if I wanted to catch salmon. I'm thinking a Kwikfish but I don't know. Any information is appreciated. Tight Lines, TJR.

fisheries said out of all the people/boats checked they have not seen one fish caught. That includes me. Most of the fish are very dark and have lock jaw. You might be the lucky one, as for me I am headed to the salt water ASAP

There has been some salmon fishing in the Sky lately, but not much salmon catching. The summer chinook run returning to the Wallace river hatchery is pretty much done. It usually peaks in late June, early July. Plus it is scheduled to close July 31. The opening was more of a WDFW attempt at public relations, than a real chance at catching any kings. The river is low and very clear now, and fishing is poor. I don't mean to discourage you, just to offer a realistic picture. If I were to fish it, I would float Sultan to Ben Howard, and concentrate on the deepest holes.

Good luck to you (you're probably going to need it)
