Anyone been fishing it lately? Is it a zoo yet?

Yes, Tanner I went there Wednesday night and it was a bit of a zoo. That's too bad. I'm still learning the river and I've found a couple of spots I like to fish and they were all taken - so I ended up doing a lot of walking and not so much fishing. Off the subject - I did see a steelhead almost beach himself about 2 feet away from me. It was the craziest thing - I looked down at him and he glanced sideways at me and he must've thought 'well, this can't be the right way...'. Does it get that crazy around Maupin as the fish start moving up river? Anyway, good luck and let me know how you do!

Thanks for the info but I am talking about the troll fishery in the Columbia at the mouth of the Deschutes.

Hi Tanner,
Fished there yesterday in 30mph winds. Kind of tough trolling at warp 9. Approx 30 boats in morning, 5 boats in afternoon. Great day for sailing! Saw 4 fish caught. Green warts and michael jacksons. Will be back down Aug 3-5th. Did have a wonderful safety inspection by Mr. Piper of the OSP. Pretty good guy. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
