Hillsboro's Happinin\' Galla night out...
Well we went and done it! Got all the Hillsboro Ififs folks out that could make it or weren't fishing and we had a KILLER good time
Pilar, RT, Big Stew, The Reel Big Stew, Myself, Bugleman2, Fishinfool, Drifty,STS II, a few lurkers and several others that I don't have the faculties to mention at the time of this post.
Smoked Tuna was devoured in record time thanks to the generosity of one Pilar. The killer Tuna rig was on display. Several stories were told and a lot of bonding took place (In public even :eek
Thanks to Bugleman II fer puttin' it together. Look for the next shindig to take place in North Plaing in the not too distant future.
Many trip plans were made and I think even I might have a shot at a Steelhead, who knows.
It was a great time, lets do it again. I think we need to have an affair like this at Fish Camp.
Later,
Mr. F. out....

Re: Hillsboro's Happinin\' Galla night out...
Was that a ball or what!?! Great to meet a bunch of fun ifishers tonight. I think there were close to between 30 to 40 members - cool. I am still a little foggy right now. Here's the coolest thing that happened to me, and hasnt in a long time - my friends Stew and Mark wouldn't let me drive home tonight and drove me home with the help of Mark's neat wife Cindy. The only thing I can't figure out about that is I only drank root beer . Faked them out, aye? As exspected Stew was up on the tables dancing the jig after only the first tequilla toast . Steve (fishbait) and Cindy (Mark's wife) are party animals, kindsa like me. Pilar brought some of that killer smoked tuna - yeegods that is goooood! So is Ruby brew. I know - it took my femine side to really fully appreciate the finer points of the ruby pitchers. 'Terminator' brew is for those tougher dudes tonight. It wasn't all just a bunch of partying fools mind you - we also talked about the good fish enhancement projects that both ifishers do and so does the Assoc. of NW Steelheaders. If we can just get even half the guys there tonight to join the T.V. chapter it will rock! We were responsible and didn't have any chugging contests . Brian and I tied for the win . Geeez I am impressed big time with what has become of the expanded Roadhouse! Think I will visit there more often now. Ray and John (Pilar) tried to tell me that 25 lb. albacore snap 200 lb. test line. Yikes! John brought a tuna rigup with trolling tuna jig and the thick as rope mono - wow! I am slated to try out the Pilar tuna follies in August. That guy has some big nads man - 40 miles out in a small boat; chasing albacore. After hearing about the awesome fishing for them I will try to grow some too - he said I will be OK on the 'Puffin' with him. God, I love fried onion rings. And fun good people! Let's party more often. ... And Cindy has plans to take me, Shane, and Mark to a place where they have more classy attire to buy. I'm UP for that .

It was a great time......I think. As for RT's feminine side it's true! He used the women's restroom all night. Mark and Cindy are great fun and thanks to fishbait(my almost brother-in-law)bugleman2u for putting it together. Hey Steve what are friends for?

Great evening! Great time! I really enjoyed meeting several i-fishers last night. I myself do intend to join the Hillsboro chapter of the Northwest Steelheaders. I really do hope to get to fish with all you people. I really would like to try the tuna fishing. However I don't think an 18 foot jet boat is quite equipped to make a run of 40 miles or so off shore. Lets do this get together again soon.

Re: Hillsboro's Happinin\' Galla night out...
Wow they expanded the McMenamins roadhouse! I had a hard time finding the Ifish group until I started looking for sunburned faces. What a great looking bunch. It's good to have faces to go with monikers.
Lets find a place to do this next time where table dances are OK and we can all just crawl home after. I know that many of you planned or instigated trips during the shindig. This is always easier in person than on the phone. If there is no other reason to get together for an adult beverage this is it.
Thanks for coming to the party and thanks Bugleman2u for making it happen. Happy trails .......

Re: Hillsboro's Happinin\' Galla night out...
Thanks all for the opportunity to get together. What I was impressed with was the comradarie and the sheer amount of fishing power that was assembled. The true 10% that catches 90% - fish fear us. You guys were great and I look forward to another gathering. I used to attend the Mcglophlin chapter of the NW Stealheaders but it was kind of stale, not much fresh blood. I need to check out the Hillsborro chapter of the NWS.
It was a fun event and will go again. The Roadhouse was an exellent choice for the event. I look forward future trips with you fish'n maniacs. Myself included. Wait! We are normal, it is those that don't fish that are crazy.
It was most excellent to meet those that attended.

Re: Hillsboro's Happinin\' Galla night out...
Well everybody else has said it already, but WOW. What a great time and what GREAT people. I can't remember the last time where at one occourance I met so many nice people. It once again made me realize that what we all have here at I Fish is something special.
OK, here goes the challege. For all you other area "roll callers" we had somewhere around 25- 35 people and must have consumed 20 plus pitchers. There were only two occourances of public nudity, 6 indecent proposals made to other patrons not in our group, the broken picnic table really wasn't our fault and only three people got 86'd. So we hereby challenge the people in the other areas to get off your duff, go the the gathering, meet some great people and see if you can have a better time than was had by all of us........Fishbait

What a great time that was. Good to finally meet a lot of the local fishing crew. This should be a monthly basis or more often. Hey Steve Cindy's ready to take you to the..."classy" clothing store whenever you're ready.

Re: Hillsboro's Happinin\' Galla night out...
What an awesome group of people to get together with and party! You are the greatest bunch of guys and girls I have met in a long time. Thanks to all that setup the shindig. RT... sore hair this morning? Pilar, your girl friend is beautiful and she fishes to!! I only had a short distance home last nite, but had to crawl home on my lips. It is easy to get carried away when having a fun time. I only wish that I would have set up a trip or two instead of just partying. Thats a hint guys!! Thanks again for a wonderful time

I also had a great time At least what I remember of it It is nice to be able to put some names to faces. And that RT can really put down a bear it was simply amazing. I also want to say thanks to MR. Fisherman for getting me home. I would also like to get some more info on the TV chapter so if any one has a number or a time and place I would appreciate it.

We meet the 3rd Thursday of every month. Our next meeting is in September at the Legion Hall in Hillsboro on Main (just past the post office). I'm not sure who the speaker will be because I'm stillwaiting to hear from someone in B.C. but if that falls through then RT will be our guest speaker.

Bugleman2, Thanks for getting the tables reserved and setting up last night. What a great time! You told me last night that I looked familiar. I was reading your post above. I also was a member of the Mclaughlin chapter of the Steelheaders. Perhaps there is where we met before.

Re: Hillsboro's Happinin\' Galla night out...
I'm jealous. I went fishin instead of joining you guys and I missed the Big Ol Tuna Rig. Now what am i gonna do. We did manage to get our Salmon on Thursday in about 1 hr and then went chasin sturgeon. a couple of shakers and then wham Mr. big guys dropped in on us in 8' of water. He wasn't 19' but he sure tore up the water and he almost had 400' of tough line off the rod before we could get the boat underway and chase him down. Wow what a rush. Well I hope to catch this next time.

It sounds like I missed a great time ...Again . . We had some unexpected relatives show up Thursday afternoon from out of state. I really would have liked to meet all you ifishers. Maybe the next one. Thanks for the invite though.
