Default Coho on the surface

It's my favorite time of year. The silvers will be thick as dog-hair in the Straits and we'll be there looking to fill the ol' smoker. Unclipped fish can be retained after Sept. 1 and there will be some BIG Ol' Hook-nosed fish up there.

My question is: what's your favorite lure/style/technique for catching Coho on the surface?
Ours is to troll cross-current with hoochies or black/silver bucktails just behind the prop-wash at 2-to-3 mph. with light gear and Hang on!

Share your ideas and tips with us.
