Re: Buoy 10 camping spots?
On the Oregon side, Hammond is closer to the fishing and much wider ramp and more dock space - but it gets to be quite the madhouse especially on weekends. Also costs $5.
Last year I went out of Warrenton, and I think I will again this year, it's just not as intense. Also free (?). Two lane ramp (& really slimy at low tide). Get your bait at Tackle Time, it's right there - call the day before or just sign up on the door. You take a slow trip ("no wake") out the Skipanon River ... a good opportunity to rig up gear and bait the crab pots before you hit the big water.
Hammond puts you right on the river. There can be some really strong rips right outside, don't be timid coming back in. Not sure on the best bait place, there is Sparky's, er Skippie's, er ... what is that store? Also a bait stand right at the boat basin I think. But you know, they don't advertise on ifish ...
Have a chart. Be kind to the non-clipped. Pray for no wind.
Camping, don't know except Ft. Stevens. I'd probably be sleeping in the back of the rig in the parking lot!
