Call Kevi Hodges in washington state, he guides for them and I went with him once just for fun and it was a fish every cast.
Man they are stupid and eat anything.
His number is 360-537-0441

Quake,

Interesting you ask as I have recently taken up the sport after wanting to try it for years as an alternative fishing gig when I need something different.

Though I am up here on the washington coast (not so far from you) I think my conditions are similar to yours. I would try anywhere with moderate to mild surf and a sandy beach. Walk a little and look for depressions in the sand or fish either side of exposed sand spits. I don't know what your using for bait but I am digging sand shrimp right there on the beach and using them for bait.

As early as last week I caught my 15 in about an hour and it was a bite darn near every cast.

Your in a decent area and should find some action with a little foot work.

Any beach alng the coast. Look for "holes" at low tide or where the waves come together to form a conflux.

Cape Meares on the 3 capes scenic route just South of Tillamook is a very popular spot but I sure don't see people catching 15 in an hour. Don't know of anywhere in Oregon they do that or anything close to it consistently.

Another spot in Oregon that is alright is in cannon beach in front of ecola creek. My parents Share a place down there and I have fished it a couple of times before. You walk out and cross the creek and head right for the surf. You are on the north side of the creek now. It is a big piece of beach that is almost like a little peninsula. anyways out in front of the creek mouth and north of it by about 100 yards or so there is a deep depression in the beach very close to the shore. You can tell by the difference inwater color and the way the tide acts there. I fished this hole all the way down to the mouth of the creek. when the water comes in it does not go straight back out, but runs south along this hole and then out at the mouth of the creek and I think the fish just stack in there and pick off the food as it comes by. I was fishing with clam necks and chunks of prawn and caught them there.
