Winchester Model 64 .32 Information

It looks like I will be given an old Winchester Model 64 .32 S.W. saddle rifle. This old rifle spent years and years in a saddle scabbard on a remote high mountain summer range cattle ranch. Some of the bluing is worn where the metal rubbed the scabbard and the stock appears to be in good but used condition. There is also an old .30-.30 Model 64.

I have the serial number and am wondering if anybody can tell me where to get information regarding the year manufactured etc? I'm not looking to sell the rifle as there is great sentimental value and my wife's family still has the ranch. It would be nice to be able to give the details of the rifle along with the stories of my wife's father and grandfather.

Manufactured in 1941. Makes sense considering the history of the ranch and "Grandpa Ralph".

i check two old model 94s that i have one the action was built in 1895 and the other 1919. what did it say about yours?

I submitted the serial number and got this reply:

Winchester Model 64:
Covering numbers: 1087837 - 5103249

The year of manufacture for serial number xxxx... is 1941.

A total of 66783 were manufactured from 1933 to 1957. Reintroduced in 1972 and discontinued in 1973 after 8,259 were manufactured.
