Default Line to use on jetty???

Anybody know of a good line that can take the beating of fishing a day on the jetty without getting all torn up and that is still low test enough to have fun fishing for bottomfish? I fished Berkley Fireline for the first time last weekend and it seemed to hold up pretty good but the knot strength sucked?

Use Maxima Chameleon. 14 to 20 lb. test, depending on the species. Avoid Braided lines when fishing around the rocks.

I'll second snapset. I'd even go a little heavier. Probally 20-25lb test. Those rocks and barnacles are pretty unforgiving when a fish runs you across them. Check your line often and cut off the abrasions as they happen. Bring a second spool of line with you just incase. Maxima chameleon is about my favorite line when it comes to abuse and it has good knot strength. Only drawback is it is a very stiff line.
