Default O.K. ...Roll Call Vancouver, Wa.

O.K. Vancouver Ifishers....Speak up.

We have several nice places to eat and tip a few and we are a large number of the board.

Lets roll call here and I know I would like to meet many of you and tell a few stories!

We have been catching way more Steelhead over here than those from accross the river ....so lets get together and brag a little.

This includes the outback like Ridgefield and other places ... with giz and some of the suburban guys!

All Oregon Ifishers would be welcome to attend and take notes.

J.K. .....well maybe not.

If there is a good response....I will work on a place to meet.

SLUTGODDESS...from Vancouver.

"Where did all those Steelhead come from????"

Bill

I guess some of us just know the difference between Gods Country, and Washington Just Kidding of course. I would like to join as many of these I-fish get togethers as possible. So I you get one together let me know and I will attend (that is if you will let me). Perhaps in the near future (maybe X-MAS sometime) all areas can get together for one big party.

Talk to you later Bill

Bill,

I live here in Vancouver. Haven't posted much because I have been boatless for awhile. However, have a new 19'North River on order. Should be ready in a week or so. Would love to get together and swap the bull when you decide its time. Lots of great guys on this site.

Spawner,

Welcome to the board and congratulations on the new boat.

Stay tuned, as I think us Vancouver fishers will be getting together.

E-mail me for some local stuff for fishing the Sh and Uprivers that are on the way in shortly.

If you need help with the new boat and what and where to go....let me know and I will share my good and bad with you.

Bill

Have not posted since registering in this name. Would definitely be interested in getting together in Vancouver. Biffle's in Orchards has decent food and good Micro Sud's.

One more Columbian to add to the list. Have been gone the last week or so and am catching up abit. Would like to meet some of you other ifishers, although I don't know if the 9th will work.

Have lived in Vancouver going on 11 years. Fished much of SW Washington, as well as the Willamette Valley and Oregon coastal rivers(grew up in Salem). Anyway, hope to see you all in a couple of weeks.

Hey Bill, I just bought a little shack in the woods within the Vancouver boundries just so I can come too. Count me in. If the title doesn't come in before the 9th, I fish with a lot of Vanc. guys so does that count? If that's not good enough, then us Roadhouse Gang challenge you Vancouver Wussies to a game of flag football - jk. BTW, the Whitewater Boaters were represented by Pete at the Roadhouse the other night. ...

Jerry, better make this one since you didn't make it to the Roadhouse. And Chris, I thought you were fishing in AK thru August (Kenai silvers) - you're back already, eh. ... And Bill, I haven't gotten into the SLUTGODDESS in a while and sure would like to again - the boat - when there is an open seat sometime for the steelies or bouy silvers; you know I make a good organic rod holder? (I'll be out of town thru most of next week; leaving in the morning). - Steve

Steve,

You know that you are always welcome to the party or a trip on the boat. When I spoke with STZ II today....he said that no party coud match the one last Thursday. We will see.

No plans yet for Silvers at the bay. I think I can do OK up here for fall fish... so not looking forward to the crowd and mess down there. Who knows...I may have to give that a try also.

See you at the SW Washinghton IFISH BASH!

Bill,
Thanks for the fishing invite, got home late / didn't read it in time, the doc sent me a backstage pass for tower of power concert last night. My ears are still ringing, what a band!

Steve,
I don't work the Kenai much for silvers anymore, it's only a two fish limit and when you bonk the second one you are done fishing the Kenai (for any species) for the rest of the day. Not a very good deal for those paying for a full day of fishing. We do the catch and release thing but I don't release deeply hooked fish so the limit usually happens pretty fast. I do fish silvers and halibut at resurrection bay, (six silver daily limit) but I wait till the middle of August so I don't have to run far to find fish. By the middle of August the silvers are swarming off the beach at our camp. This year we might try plug-cutting a chum salmon and rigging on wire leader for salmon shark. I leave for that fishery in a week or so and won't be back till mid Sept. Redoubt lodge only has a few openings left for Crescent river/lake silvers. This fishery is so easy a fishing guide isn't really needed.... an armed guard for bears maybe.
I'm already looking forward to getting back in Sept for silver fishing here and Wayne Adams will be done with my new boat.

Ringing Ears...You picked a good day to recover and let your ears heal up. First skunk in 6 trips. There was a little action out there but not on the "****". Best I could do was a good take down that was off by the time I got to the rod. Sorry you will miss the peak of the uprivers here, butt somehow I know that you will be OK about it!!!

Have a great trip and will see you when you get back.

Also at the S.W. Washington IFISH get together.

Mrdorkfish,

I believe you are correct about the Oregon fishers catching all the fish. There are no fish to catch over here on the Washington side of the river so not worth you coming over to catch them....ur...ahh I mean not catch them!!!

Bait boy.... Let me know what your schedule is and what you like to fish for...I fish all year for some kind of fish...usually close to home and have a last minute open seat from time to time and you are welcome to fill it if you can go on short notice.
Send me an E-Mail...

I'm taking my neighbor out tomorrow to fish some of those nice metal heads on your side of the river in the a.m. I'll let you know how we do.

Bill-We hit two fish today too. We had both fish in by 10:00 am. I didn't put in down there because the low water is just too low for a prop like mine. So we went up to Chinook and put in there and fished down at 32. We were the only boat to put two fish in the boat. there were 10 boats out there today and 4 were fishing Salmon. We saw one of them hook up but he lost it near that stump sticking up by the pilings. We came in at 12:00 cause we had erands to run.

Glad to hear you did good too. I guess there were alot of fish in the river.

Well, I guess it is time for me to come out of the shadows and type up. I have only been in Vancouver for 6 months, and in the Pacific NW for 1 year. I am currently boatless, but I will rememdy that situation around December of this year. I do not have many stories to tell, from this neck of the woods anyway (grew up in South Dakota), but that expecting/hoping that will change after this weekend since I am hitting bouy 10 for the first time.

I would like to meet some other Washington/Oregon fisherpersons (politically correct) so hopefully I will be able to join all of you at the get together.

Fish on!

Hey,
If I'm not fishing on Thursday I will try to crash your party, so count me as a mabey. I had such a great time at our's in Hillsboro, I'm look forward to meeting some of the SW WA I fishers. Anybody want to carpool from the zoo area....

Steve (fishbait), I talked to Shane a bit ago and he said he would be a designated driver for the 3 of us Thur. evening - if you are willing to take your chances ... And being 3 reps for the T.V. Chapter of ANWS we should put on a knot tying clinic for all those bozos from 'couver. In fact, if we can get 'Yall to come down he can put on a knot clinic all by himself. He's pretty good with mono and braids (fishing line braids too), but if the guys ever need some great rope knots he's the man! And he's the only guy I've ever heard about that can tie knots in duct tape. Cool? ... You might think about bringing them some tip sheets on how to cast for steelhead too. And hook sharpening. ...

Call up 'Stew when his wife is there, to make plans while she is listening in, so she won't think we are going dolphin fishing. But do bring a few $1 bills because word is that Heater may dance! And I heard Giz and Chris have cooked up a singing duet number for the crowd. Cute, ay? Later. - Steve

Steve,

I heard it a little different.....I heard that you and the Shark are going to do some songs from your youth and play some reel bad guitar for us.

4 to the boat today and 2 in the cooler.

So, the location has changed?
Guess what?
You may be honored by the presence of the one and only, "IFISH QUEEN".
That is, if I can kick this pneumonia.
I got a personal invite from the very talented and fish killin machine, "HEATER" himself.
Lay out the red carpet. I expect roses to be laid at my feet.

Jim,

Don't tell those misguided soles that the fishing in the lower Columbia is way better than Nehalem right now....I want to keep it a secret if I can!!!

Refering to Steelhead ofcourse....not those little things in the bay. I'll get around to them when they get bigger and closer to home.
