Default Targeting chinook in the ocean...

Any suggestions ? We brought lots of fish to the boat this season , including , I believe , my first steelhead at sea , but only one chinook ... Any ports doing better than others ? Anyone trying it ?? I suppose you just use the chinnok tricks ...fish deeper , broader herring spin ...etc etc ???

Swampy,
Here's my .02. Hope it helps.

Garibaldi:
Caught 2 Kings two weeks ago. One at 100ft downrigger slow, wide roll. Large flasher(Abe and Al) Herring, No RSK, just hooked and half hitch around the nose, end hook trailing. The other was with a trolling weight, about 40ft behind the boat same roll, same rig, as Pilar was letting it out.
Bouy 1:
Hit 2 Kings here on Monday as well as a few Coho. Same rigs, only divers not Downriggers. 10-15 pulls, mostly around 13. We did use RSK's here though. RSK is "Rotary Salmon Killers" Marked lots of fish on the FF. Most were deep, did not have a lot of luck on the Downriggers, though they did get hit a few times.
Hope this helps you out. Let me know if you have any questions.
