Default Lewis mouth ramp?

Does the ramp at the mouth of the lewis river have enough water to launch?

If by that you mean old Mrs. Beebe's ramp (now called Spencer's or something like that) the answer is yes. Plenty of water to launch at high tide, which is when you should be launching. At low tide there just ain't no ramp, but if you are careful you can ease back and not have any trouble. There is a lot of gravel there and we've had no trouble.

Launched my sled there today at low tide with no problem. Ease it back. There is a drop off at the bottom so be careful.

John --- congrats on your fish yesterday. If you launched at low tide, how did you fish the mouth without current? A new technique I should know about?? Were many taken?

Rags,
Did you and Snapshot get into anymore fish? When you called me it sounded like you two had hooked a couple of big ones. You guys have had a pretty good couple of days! Hole in one and a couple of steeles!! Are you getting ready for "B" 10 on the 1st?? Wished I could make it up there for a couple of days. Or should I wait until Sept for the run up the Clack??? Does Glen go to "B" 10? Have you taken Snapshots sled out for a spin yet? Well I'd better get to work. Had a day off yesterday. (State holiday Pioneer Day)Had a great day fishing here last Saturday. Fished Strawberry. Fish ranged from 16" to 18". Got home in time to do my yard work. Let me know when to come up.

Jack- I should clarify, we put in around 2:00pm. Tide was going out. Caught both fish on red prawns. Saw at least 6 others caught. NoPilgram-we caught two, 12lb and 8lb. Both hatchery. I am getting ready for Bouy 10. Going with George Rose on the 2nd. You should come over for both!

I have a 23 ft sled and looked at Beebe's ramp last evening from the water. Looked like there was a pretty good drop off, might be hard to pull a big sled back out of the water. Suggest you launch at the Port of Ridgefield, good ramp even with this low water, about a 3 mile run down Lake River which joins the Columbia just upriver from the mouth of the Lewis. Be careful when entering the Columbia as the mouth of Lake river is shallow. The deeper part is closet to the piling line on the downriver shore, be sure to turn slightly up the Columbia once past the piling as the channel turns.
