Family Thing!!! Bulls Down!!!
Well, the year has started out with a bang..Openning morning, my better half and i set up on a group of elk that were pretty eager to see what all those cow noises were about..This little spike make the mistake of running into under twenty yards and taking a good arrow from Mom. This was very cool cause we just had a little girl about 8 weeks ago and Mom wasn't going to have a bunch of time to hunt this year..We only had about three hours this morning before we had to be back for the morning feeding session...Brought grandma and grandpa back up with us to take care of the little guy and Brooklyn got her first picture with a bull and less then 8 weeks...

Nice family photo
The next day i called in a very nice bull to Grandpa who never had a clean shot so we went without another encounter..That Monday i set up on three nice bulls and passed on a good 5 point trying to get into the others...Thursday night..I went out again after working most of the week..Sara and Brook in tow again, I just wanted to check this draw making sure the elk wern't there so i could eliminate that place for the next morning..Well, i immediately got an answer and the hunt was on.. In the thick Rhodies.. I had a very small shooting lane and a big six point came into it but i couldn't get him stopped in time.. he was just milling around when another bull was coming on the same path he had just come.. I saw antlers moving from where the big guy had just went in and though he was coming back out to run this other bull off..He didn't get through my shooting lane the second time.. However, after stopping him and letting the arrow fly, when he whirled i thought something looked a little different.. I was right, when i got to this downed bull, it was a four point...Apparently three bulls came, and i let the wrong one have it...Oh well, Brook and sara got to listen to the entire deal.. I think were creating a little elk Monster....

That spike is huge. Your wife rocks, man i wish mine hunted. Camp yes, hunt, no, except upland birds.

Re: Family Thing!!! Bulls Down!!!
JC the epitomy of a dedicated bow hunter:
In the woods everyday, family in tow, bulls down with arrow and bow, better half on the call with kid on the back, daddy waiting for bull to whack, brim of hat down to avoid looking at size, uh oh might not have been wise, never the less moments like this are not about size, no losers here, just a big win, momma behind camera, daddy with a grin

Re: Family Thing!!! Bulls Down!!!
You know there is a world full of people who wouldn't understand the pic of your wife, baby and you with her bow killed bull.
But I sure do.
Great job and keep the gene pool going.
