Re: Coastal call too!
Hey Jen,
I live in Tillamook from mid Sept through Mid Nov, does that count? If you don't believe me, just ask my wife, kids and secretary.

Re: Coastal call too!
Capt. Hook, I dunno about your Tillamook air. Just there this last weekend and I swear the barn odor keeps getting worse every trip. What Tillamook needs is to harness that methane gas. Enough methane in your valley to power several generators to light up the entire county.
Good think the DEQ doesn't post air quality warnings for Tillamook county.

Re: Coastal call too!
I live in "Buoy 10 country" and get ready, Aug. 1 is just around the corner.
In Oct., Nov. I'm with Capt. Hook, I also love that Tillamook fresh air and hanging on to my bobber rod.
Fishing is tuff, but I have to provide food for my family.

Re: Coastal call too!
I lived in Lincoln City from May through November last year in a little coast rental, and I am dying to find a way back. Had a little garage for my drift boat and some workbenches to gear up on, there were some sand shrimp beds within five minutes walking distance from the house, and I caught more fall chinook than I ever have, at least fresh chinook. I miss it- Albany is the armpit of the Willamette Valley.

Re: Coastal call too!
No kidding about Albany. It even smells like an armpit when you drive through (as fast as you can holding your breath).

Re: Coastal call too!
Hey after you live here awhile you get used to it. NOT!!!!!! Having the Trask on one side of me and the Wilson on the other does make up for it though. 5 minutes to any ramp in the area. An extra hour of sleep in the morning. It all adds up to sniff tolerance.

Re: Coastal call too!
Once upon a time I lived on the coast, Does that still count? Now I live pretty close to the armpit of Oregon. I also lived on the other side of the big mountains(Prineville). Now I will be living half the week in Kalama WA and the other half in Lebanon.

Re: Coastal call too!
Nehalem, agreed, the coast is the only place to be.
Provided Mudsucker keeps his crab pots out of my way. And HustlerJim figures out that ODFW updates their fishing regs every year and he can't keep using that dog eared one from 1965.
