Default Michael Jackson dead

No, not that Michael Jackson, the other one, the Beer Hunter.

I met him, and judged beer with him in the mid-90's at the Rose Festival Homebrew contest at the now defunct Norwester brewery.

It's safe to say that craft beer would not be what it is today without Michael Jackson. He was a giant and his contribution can't be overstated. Such a loss.

I sat in a panel with him, Fred Eckhart and one other "brewie" at the first MicroBrew convention ever. For lack of Micros at the time, we tasted 12 Belgian ales. Good thing I could walk home!

Michael Jackson's beer and scotch books are the epitome of knowledge on those subjects. I'm saddened to hear of his passing and will toast his memory with a frothy ale.
