Well finally got around to down loading some pics. Dad and I did our annual scouting/coyote/bear/cougar/trip. We didn't fire a shot. We really wanted to see our old hunting grounds up on Aldrich Mt. Amazingly one of our camps survived the fire, but the jack fir out house did not!
Here's what the north side of the ridge looks like.
We did see two bucks, in fact that is all we saw and we drove and walked around quite a bit.
Here's camp, simple and quick to move. The screen tent was a real treat, especially around the bees.
We moved over to the Desolation unit. Lots of deer, lots of fawns.
Some predators too! That's a .223 shell.
With the fires going on, the sunsets were amazing.
You guys can always stay at this cabin, anybody know where this is?
Of coarse you will have to sleep with the pack rats!!
We had a great time, Dad hand called a dog into about 15 yards, but it was on his back side and he didn't see it until he heard it leaving. The weather was hot and we slept the afternoons away in the screen tent. We hunted dogs in the morning and scouted deer in the evening.
