Default New US Citizen

I wanted to share this story because I am proud of my friend/cousin-in-law/fishing partner, Lio. He became a US citizen today. Lio is/was a legal immigrant from Samoa. He works for JOIN assisting the homeless find permanent housing. Days and nights, rain or shine, Lio is on the ground visiting homeless camps in the greater Portland area. He can tell you were almost every homeless camp is in the greater Portland area. He is known by almost every cop and everyone who is anyone at City Hall. But still, he is completely under the radar. You never see his name in the paper or any public reports. And that's the way he wants it. Yet Lio has helped hundreds, of not thousands of people find permanent housing in his career.

Here's to Lio, my friend and citizen of the United States.

That is awesome!!! We need more givers (like your friend) than takers. My co-workers wife was sworn in as a US citizen yesterday. She came America for school and is now a Certified Public Accountant AND a US citizen! Simply awesome!

Wooohooo!

From what I understand it is not easy to attain. I'll never forget the day my daughter came home from school and related what she'd learned on the topic. She said, "Wow mom, those people weren't even born here and they have to learn more about our country that most americans ever know!"
