Re: Where will you be for the opener (Archery)
Studying for my National Dental Board Exam Part 1!!! Unfortunately, the only date available to take the test was AUGUST 29TH......IN SPOKANE, WA! So, I will be flying out of Portland on the 28th, take my test from 9am-5:30pm the 29th (yeah, it's an 8 hr., 400 question test), flying out from Spokane at 6:45pm (I better make it!) and touching down in Portland a little over and hour later. The truck will be packed and we'll be leaving for elk camp from the airport.
I can't believe the lengths I go to in an effort to squeeze one more morning out of my season.

Hopefully sitting in the ocean catching some fish. Might see if I can't find a willing deer or elk up in the hills during the evening.

Re: Where will you be for the opener (Archery)
I will be on vacation. I am sitting this year out and not hunting anything more than likely. I want to take my kids traveling and I don't have the cash for both so hunting will have to go another year instead.

They have heard some of the best callers there are for about 12 yrs now.
Please post your results after the season.

Coast range for sure. Getting bigger in there every year. And I think they'll be moving alot more this year. Deer too. Been too long. My freezer keeps asking me to help it out. This year for sure..

I will take your advice about the "sit down and shut up"... However I don't know where they are because I have not hunted inside the fence before. I will sure try to figure it out though. You are more than welcome to PM me some GPS numbers for a good starting point

Re: Where will you be for the opener (Archery)
I've been chasing tuna all summer and I haven't put that much effort into the preseason. So opening morning I'll be hunting local (the ocean is going to be too sporty for my boat) and then on the long weekend I'll be in the NS Unit plus maybe another few days out there.
What a delima...Tuna...Halibut.....Salmon....Archery....T una....Halibut....Salmon.....Archery

Where I won't be is Columbia County. The 1"+ of rain wasn't enough to get Hancock or Weyerhaeuser to open up.

Dang Tuna...Always taking up too much of our precious time. We only have 1 Month for Archery Season tho, & It's time to get Serious. We Choose the last week for our Bow Hunting Vacation this year, cause It's been so Hot & Dry earyl season in recent years, & wouldn't you know it...A Cool, & Damp pattern has set up this year, Oh well weekend Warrior closer to Home for the first 3 hunt's, & then maybe We'll see you in NS Unit the last week. Good Luck! to All.

Re: Where will you be for the opener (Archery)
North coast for me the first week. The rain teased me with a hope of some honey hole openers but it looks like those herds will be spared my harassment for at least awhile longer. Have to head for the back up spots - hopefully I can stay out of the hood to coasters this weekend. (The quicker ones are usually nimble enough to get out of the way but you have to watch out for some of the slower ones.)
