Savage or Marlin .17 hmr?

I know .17's have been a topic before but which do you prefer...Savage or Marlin. I'm going to buy one or the other and would like some opinions. Thanks for any info!

You cannot go wrong either way. Both are shooters. I personally own a savage bull barrell...it shoots tacks.

My savage flat outshoots my buddies marlin and his also had magezine/feeding issues. Mine also costs less.

I own both. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen the other. Both GREAT shooters....I DO like the Savage Accutrigger more than the stock Marlin so a slight edge to the Savage.

I have savage thumbhole stock SS. $300 at Bi-mart. Sagerats hate it.

Really like the savage I own.

I had some magazine issues with mine, but nothing worth getting upset over. Great gun....what would be nice is a larger clip then 7.

I have a Marlin, and it doesn't like the CCI rounds...it won't feed them up into the barrel, they just jam and get stuck until you back them out. A buddy of mine had the same problem with his Savage though. I went with the 917VS because it felt balanced, and I liked the looks of it. It shoots pretty good too, and I just put a Rifle Basix trigger on it as well.

How about the CZ boltgun (Gunbroker 82nd) looked good to me. (I didn't shoot it!)
