Default Boat Disposal

Does anyone know of a place to dispose of old boats that people need to get rid of?

I have a fiberglass boat that I am trying to get out of the driveway and get another one in.

You could always take it to the transfer station in Oregon City. Might be kind of fun to pull into the covered building and launch it into the pit off the back of the trailer. You might need one of the workers to open up the rope guards that keep people from falling in the pit.

At $75/ton for garbage it might be the cheapest thing you ever did with your boat.

Put a free sign on it...you'll be surpirsed. I have gotten rid of more junk that way.

There is a place out in Fairview that take old fiberglas boats and motors (don't remember name , of course). It is at the intersection of Sandy Blvd. and 223rd. When my father-in-law passed away,I took 3 old glas boats there.

You could always donate it to the charity of your choice. Kidney foundation and volunteers of America both take boats. Then you can write it off on your taxes as a charitable donation. I did this with three junker cars and it is a lot easier than trying to sell it in the paper and deal with the slew of yahoos who call and eat up your weekend.

If its at all seaworthy ( ) you might try looking up the Sea Scouts, if there are any around.
