Default Pontoons at the Show

Curious as to your thoughts on what you saw at the show, I liked the "Bad Cats" (steehead express)and the "Skookum" (steeheader) in the 10footers, both appeared to be well made. The bad cat frame was impressive to my novice eye???
would appreciate any feedback.

Didn't see "Water Ready" there.. one of the new sponsers ??

I really liked those Bad Cats--for the $$ I thought that they were really the best buy out there. Fishin Magician and I were wanting to pull the trigger on one of those bad!

The Steelheader is a great boat and the original, but I think your paying some extra $$ for the name. Super well built though.

Thanks for ur input Crayfin,
I'm also leaning toward Bad Cat, only negative for me was the lack of a motor mount, although one could be rigged. & the Skookum didn't have a foot bar, seems that would be a problem if ya really needed
to put power in your stroke.... but I will be a novice at the sticks and maybe that's a miss conception with this light of a craft.

I was told by one of the builders that all of the tubes are made by the same company, built to the specs of the boat maker, with the high end boats using the same weight material. there is definately some competition with a hatch of these high end funtoons.

Yeah, on the foot bar--you're really not going to need one on such a light boat. I have rowed from Warm Springs to Maupin in a 9' Outcast and never really had to dig to much.

As far as the tube thing, I am not really sure, but I will say that the way those tubes are constructed, you are going to get a better tracking boat that an Outcast.

I liked the Sotar boats the best. Of course I am not prejudice at all. I own a 16 footer.
