Default Tillamook Silver Fishing Update

Fished out of tillamook today, the bar was flat and the ocean was nice. Four people in the boat including myself. Crossed the bar at 5:20 and had a limit of fish and were on the way back in by 9:30. Boated 7 clipped silvers, 1 20 lb chinook and 5 native silvers that were released. Had a total of 25 take-downs. The depth of choice was 275 to 290 foot. All but one fish was taken on whole herring at 15-17 pulls. The other fish was taken on a bare green hookie with scent on it. The photos will be in Tuesday and I will post a pic of the 8 fish.

Blast and Cast:

Similar experience to your Sunday morning out of Garibaldi. There were only 2 of us but we fihished the day with 4 nice silvers kept by 10:30 a.m. 1 small chinook and 5 silvers release but we must have missed setting the hook or had at least 8 others spit our hook.

We were due west of twins rocks at 245 to 250 feet. Downrigger set to 30 feet or a diver at 25 pulls.

It was a great fishing day off the coast!! One of those that we hope to repeat next Sunday.

We limited out agian too..in about an hour; well, at least two of the three of us. I lost count of how many fish we hooked and lost. The ticket seemed to be yanking them out of the water quickly as apposed to a sporting fight.

Proud TJ - Twin rocks is about 1 mile north of the bar +/-.

When I am fishing out from twin rocks and am in 150 feet of water I am about 2.5 to 3 miles from the bar, at 190 feet I am about 4 miles from the bar. It sounds like the fish are moving out since people are talking about 240 to 275 feet of depth. I would assume this is 5 to 6 miles from the bar.

Proud TJ - sorry the late answer on how far out from twin rocks. I am traveling back East.

Bait O' Eggs is correct on the distance from the 2 Rocks and the tillamook bar. Thanks Bait O' Eggs for answering this for me.

Good luck!
