Talking It shouldn't be long now...

Let me give you a little back ground. Three weeks ago I went to the area that I was going to set up my dad’s food plot, and cleared the area of brush, weeds, sticks and the like. I went back a week later only to find the whole area tracked up with deer prints. That was pretty encouraging because there was nothing there to attract them to it, just clean dirt. That is until I left. Before I left I put out a couple of bricks of salt lick and some “Deer Cane”. I was there again yesterday, to find even more deer tracks in the dirt. The area where the “Deer Cane” is is dug out and the salt licks moved all over the place. Before I left this time I set down the lime, fertilizer, and seed for the plot. While I was seeding a little button buck thought it would be a good idea to come and see what was going on. He came within 10 to 15 feet of me before he saw me. He is not too smart. I was standing in the middle of nothing, wearing gym shorts and a bright orange Oregon State t-shirt. I also put my blind in place, and my trail camera. That’s why I say it should not be long……. until I have lots of pictures from the cam, and blood on the ground from my dad’s arrow.

Sounds awesome...I set up my blind two day ago. Major major elk run right next to it. Fresh deer tracks in the area as well. The only bad thing is my brother-in-law decided to get married on the 25th...he is not a hunter...obviously. Doesn't he know that day is all about ME !!

I will be ready after the wedding. Besides...the bride's Dad is a seafood distributor...I am expecting a grand seafood extravaganza at the reception!
